The Kingdom saw many visitors today, most probably due to the Chronicles' groundbreaking investigative journalism on the ongoing confusion and uncertainty that has gripped our fellow-Arab nation, Kuwar.
In order to cast light on this unsettled situation, in a nation that clearly lacks leadership in the Emir's absence, the Chronicles presents the fruits of two interviews with individuals who are well versed in Kuwari politics, discussing the general situation, and the Press Conference that raised more questions than it answered about the fate of the Emir, and the possible reasons for his "disappearance."
I made the editorial decision not to ask these experienced observers about the two frightened women who attempted to manage the Press Conference without the Emir, as it would be unfair to judge their inexperienced management compared to the sophisticated and urbane style employed by that old rascal Emir Hussein al Rachid.

WHERE IS THE EMIR OF KUWAR? HAS HE FLED KUWAR?

Ms. Schmidt came to Kalahari because she is investigating the Emir's mysterious disappearance, and mentioned that many people in nations across the world were wondering where the Emir was, and if the Emir's fiancée, Princess General Daria Romanova had shared all she knew at the Conference.
Ms. Schmidt did not comment on the rumor circulating among certain jaded circles that the Emir had discovered General Romanova was in fact a mini-tyrant in the bedroom, and that the Emir fled in terror from his fiancée.
She did acknowledge that she is extremely careful concerning what she writes in Kuwar, for fear of their ruthless disregard of freedom of the press, but as an internationally accredited journalist, she writes the truth in her publication. But she, too, is at a loss as to the whereabouts of the Emir.

Administrator, Morelock Prison
As the Administrator of Morelock Prison, Ms. Lethecus has signed a treaty with the Emirate of Kuwar to take the overflow of the vast number of prisoners that fill the jails of Kuwar. So she has an intimate knowledge of the countless innocent souls condemned by the Kuwari "Justice" system to interminable jail terms.
As a true professional, Ms. Lethecus would not divulge a list of inmates in her prison, nor would she state if she knew where the Emir was. As an experienced investigative journalist, however, I would say that the Emir is NOT incarcerated in Morelock Prison, though Ms. Lethecus did not offer a guess as to where he actually was, and if he was being held as a prisoner, or fled from the disastrous conditions of Kuwar of his own volition.
The Chronicles will continue its intensive coverage of this international news story, and inform its readers of any and all items of interest.

QUEEN VI VYPER FURNISHES THE HAREM
The Queen's elegant taste was again on display when she invited the Chronicles Social Affairs Editor into the new Harem. As the Queen revealed the beautiful beds, the finest bedding, and silken sheets, she pointed out a gorgeous white fur rug, specially imported from the mysterious Kingdom of Afghan. The Pleasure Girls will certainly be pampered in their new quarters!

THE KING ANNOUNCES A CELEBRATION: SUNDAY, 30 AUGUST 2015
Though planning has just begun, the King announces that he will host a great celebration on 30 August. Festivities will include a Royal Hunt in the palace, open to all, dance events for men and women, and a grand feast. Tavern Servant Cindy promises a delicious dining experience, including crumb, bosk, tuna, and verr skewers. Reserve this date!

HOW: Fill out a notecard with the name or names you are suggesting.
WHEN: Submit the card to Cindy (cinders.alex), the Tavern Servant, or Minister of Entertainment Afraa al Abid (xclox.resident) by Monday, 24 August.
WHO: Judges will be: Minister Afraa, Cindy, slave Gabi.
WHAT: The King announces a prize of L$50 AND a delicious meal in the Tavern.
CRITERIA: The name should be Arab-themed, show creativity, and reflect the gastronomic purpose of the Tavern.

MEDIEVAL MURMURS
The notorious criminal Albert Ushimawa returned to the scene of his crime today, blithely ignoring the King's commands, and walking around free as a bird. The Chronicles is confident that a verdict will soon be pronounced in his case.
