DAILY NEWS FROM MAMLAKAT KALAHARI 10 August 2015
(Many of our inhabitants have received a message from a moron from Kuwar, well, one of the morons of Kuwar, named NicholasTheGreat. Please disregard this message.)
TALES OF THE PALACE
The moon sits in the sky like a luminous disk, and looks down on a lone figure moving slowly toward the new Palace construction.
Minister Afraa al Abid is worried, and the mix of brightness from the moon, and the shadows cast by the impressive buildings of Kalahari, make her more nervous still. As part of her duties as Kalahari Herald, Afraa walks around the Kingdom, making her rounds to check on the peace and safety of all the residents.
As she draws near to the Palace, a strange wailing sound reached her ears, an unearthly cry. that sends shivers down her spine. The Minister does not lack courage, but the plaintive shriek she hears causes her to tremble, and she looks around for a weapon to defend herself against whatever terror awaits her. Grasping a broom, the only item she can find by moonlight, she moves toward the lone light shining from one of the windows of the Palace.
Suddenly, fear grips her heart! She knows that Queen Vi Vyper has been spending many late hours furnishing the Palace, and now a frightened Afraa worries that some hideous creatures of the night, or foreign assassins, may have attacked the Queen. As she moves toward the door, and silently opens it, she is surprised to hear the low murmur of a voice, seemingly speaking normally, and the unearthly shrieking, though now muted and barely more than a whisper.
Staying low, Afraa silently pushes the door open with her broom, and her eyes fall on an amazing sight. Transfixed, her jaw dropping open, Afraa sees
sees (can it be???)
sees the Queen, smiling, seated in a comfortable chair pointing to King Hassan: "No dear, move that couch LEFT two centimeters, it must be centered." And now the source of that ungodly wailing can be identified, as the King, in a mixture, of whining and wailing that is hardly earthly, begs the Queen "Dear, this is the fourth time I have moved this couch. Can't we stop????" And the Queen just smiles, and with a regal wiggle of her index figure, responds "2 centimeters, dear, left."
Silently, Afraa backs out of the doorway, gently returns the broom to the site, then quickly moves away, breathing a heavy sigh of relief. The Queen has the matter, and the King, well in hand!
RETURN OF PRINCESS LIVIA FROM HER JOURNEY TO ROME
Despite her illness, and her separation from her beloved Minister Magdy, Princess Livia bravely completed her journey to Rome. In addition the her diplomatic talks, the princess found time to gather some vines and seeds from the rich agricultural region, so the Kingdom's people can look forward to even greater diversity and pleasure in the food available to us from the Farm.
