The Delicious Syrup Tavern

The first three Tavern Nights, while extremely successful, have involved trips and intricate entertainments.

King Hassan Ibn Trrrol is proud of his subjects, and their friends as well. So he thought, as the days grow shorter, (at least in the Northern Hemisphere!) and the desire for home and hearth grow stronger, that an evening of good fellowship, festivity and fun, would be the type of evening all the residents of the Kingdom, and their friends might enjoy.

So, we will gather this Wednesday to enjoy each other's company and talents (belly dancing, anyone?) and of course the delicious food and tasty beverages provided by the Manager of the Delicious Syrup Tavern, Cindy.

SURPRISE DIPLOMATIC INITIATIVE FROM THE EMIRATE OF KUWAR!
EMIR HUSSEIN PAYS A SURPRISE VISIT TO KALAHARI KINGDOM!
KING HASSAN INTERRUPTS IMPORTANT BUSINESS TO GREET THE EMIR
BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER (BY QUEEN SHADAN) SAMIRAH, ACCOMPANIES HIM!

With a diplomatic initiative of immense significance, Emir Hussein the Wise and Merciful, Ruler of the Emirate of Kuwar, has opened up the possibility of improved diplomatic relations between his nation and Kalahari Kingdom.

The first sign that the Emir came on a mission of peace was his escort, not the usual bungling crew of RKAF thugs who have allowed the deaths of two Queens, the kidnapping of a Queen, and numerous security breaches in the last few months, but his beautiful daughter Samirah, offspring of his marriage to the late, lamented Queen Shadan, of happy memory.

Minister for External Relations Afraa al Abid hurried to meet the Royal pair at the Kalahari Landing when they were spotted coming ashore.

King Hassan Ibn Trrrol, ever ready to encourage his brother Arab ruler on the path of peace, rushed from some important business he was conducting in the Bath House with Diana Geesink, to greet his brother, and offer him the hospitality of the Kingdom.

Fortunately, our worst fears were not confirmed: the pair was not fleeing Kuwar due to another round of bloody executions, or a nuclear mishap, but had journeyed here of their own free will. We have an illustration of the King and Minister Afraa welcoming the visitors as excited onlookers cheered the beautiful girl and the, the, ummm the interestingly proportioned Emir.

Crowds throng the Royal visitors

The King's hospitality, and the warm welcome by the Kalahari throngs, allowed the visibly relaxed Emir to enjoy his visit. He took pleasure in an emotional reunion with his former wife Afraa al Abid, and they shared many a laugh, and touching story for an all-too-short interval.

Finally, the Royal pair had to leave, hurrying to return to the Emirate to read the day's list of those who were executed, condemned to execution, or simply imprisoned without trial. But they left behind the warm glow of a mission accomplished, and the hope of a peaceful future for two great lands.

STATE VISIT: PRESIDENT TMARQUES HABANA, QUILOMBO DOS PALMARES
                        THIS THURSDAY, 5 NOVEMBER 2015
2:00 PM SLT, THRONE ROOM OF THE PALACE

Readers of the Chronicles will remember the shipwrecked mariner who was washed up on the Kalahari shore recently. Of course, this gentleman received the customary Kalaharian hospitality, and was given a ship from our fleet to take him back to his homeland.

As we discovered, that poor bedraggled refugee was no other than President Tmarques Habana of Quilombo dos Palmares! Furthermore, Palmares is renowned for being a land that welcomes refugees, people who are persecuted in some way by society: blacks, Indians, Gypsies, and other such groups. How wonderful that we in Kalahari welcomed the President in the same way he has welcomed many unfortunates into his country.

King Hassan, always searching for opportunities not only to benefit the residents of his Kingdom, but also to assist all other nations, has invited President Habana to make a State Visit for the purpose of establishing friendly relations, negotiating a trade treaty, and pursuing other cultural opportunities.

So, please come, welcome our distinguished visitor, and his Prime Minister gohan Danitz, on Thursday, 5 November 2015, at 2:00 PM SLT. The visit begins in the Throne Room in the Palace. There, the renowned dancers of Kalahari will welcome him with an exhibition of the belly dance.

Here is an overview of the lovely land of Palmares:
