SLAVERY: THE HARSH REALITY
In recent days, we have seen the best of times and the worst of times, in our slave population.
The best of times includes the branding of slave dara, the long term outstanding service of slaves Abu and Gabi, the stellar service of slave Tasme at the Delicious Syrup, the hard work of such Mine slaves as Druslan and Henry, and the new service of slave Alisha Munro, who begins to explore her servitude as a Service slave.
But we have also seen the worst of times in our slaves as well. The paramount example is the outrageous and treasonous behavior of slave geronimo, who was justly punished, and will live out the rest of his miserable life without the benefit of his treasonous tongue.
SLAVE FLUFFYKINS
But two other wretched slaves deserve mention for their unacceptable behavior. the first, slave Fluffykins, committed a serious crime in the Kingdom itself by ATTEMPTING to escape.
Thinking he was unsupervised, this foolish boy broke free from his chains in the Mine, and ran around the Kingdom, believing he was somehow eluding Guard Commander Livia, and temporary deputy Afraa al Abid, as well as Kingdom Medical Director Adeel C. Eagor.
Of course, this pathetic excuse of a slave was trapped in the Bath House by Princess Livia, and given the punishment he so richly deserved: a ferocious beating that may scar him for life.
SLAVE TALLY
But the most insidious and clever misbehavior was perpetrated by the notorious slave tally. (It is a generally accepted fact that the female slave is far superior to her male counterpart in intelligence and cunning, though there might be the occasional exception.) It certainly is true in the matter of tally.
This she-devil not only stole jewelry from the Palace to finance her escape, she commandeered one of the Kalahari Navy's light cutters to manage her escape. In fact, she DID escape, for a while. (ahahaha) How "clever" she must have felt as she hit the open seas! How "free" she must have believed her escape had made her!
But little did she know that someone more intelligent, and far more relentless was in pursuit, a ruthless Mistress who was affronted by the arrogance of one of her slaves, who thought that SHE could escape.
General of the Armies Princess Prith not only managed to lead Kalahari's victorious legions in campaigns of conquest in several faraway lands, her agents left no stone unturned in pursuing the over-confident tally.
Finally, the runaway was located; secret messages were sent, and one sunny morning, as the unsuspecting slave searched along the wharves of Puerto Esclava for passage to the fabled lands of Urop, justice arrived in the person of Princess Prith, at the head of a crack squad of her personal guard.
The stunned slave was so shocked, she fell to her knees, and, weeping, through herself at the Princess' feet, covering them with kisses Little did she realize that this false show of repentance would not move the experienced Princess, who clapped the faithless slave in chains, and dragged her back to the Kingdom.
But it was two formidable women who would demand justice from the now blubbering tally. Princess Prith, of course,wreaked a terrible vengeance on the slave, brutally marking the runaway with her whip, and then leaving her hanging on the Punishment Tree of Kalahari, as a gruesome reminder of the fate of runaway slaves.
But Kalahari had more to demand. The Justice Minister, Princess Livia, made slave tally answer for her theft of some of the Royal Jewels by punishing the now broken runaway with an equally brutal beating, with her whip, crossing every t and dotting every i that Princess Prith's whip had left on the lovely flesh of the slave.

"The past period has brought rest to our Kingdom and therefore I would like to offer Afraa her old position back as Entertainment and External Affairs Minister, including the leadership of the Belly Dance team, and I ask her to accept this.....
: ....and because of the important first view of hospitality and the high workload of her former package....., I will keep the management of the Tavern in my own hands.
So I ask you Afraa, if you kindly would accept the return to this position?
AFRAA'S ACCEPTANCE
Your Highness, thank you for offering to lift my suspension from the position of Minister of Entertainment and External Relations. I take it as a sign of your desire to be open to all.
As you know, I have made it quite clear to you that we are not friends, but we do not need to be. I am proud of the way I acted as Entertainment and External Affairs Minister before, and will continue to perform my duties in the exact same way now that you have decided to lift my suspension. So reinstating me says, I think, that you judge this matter on its merits, not with personal feelings attached.
I am also happy you agreed to my suggestion that Tavern management comes under the Palace's supervision, while keeping the Belly Dance Temple and dance slaves in the Entertainment Ministry. That change in governance structure is best for all concerned, I think.
But most of all, it pleases me to see that you place your trust in my judgment in spite of our disagreements. It speaks to good character on your part. I am sure that you and I can work together as professional associates for the good of the Kingdom and all of its wonderful residents, so I accept reinstatement.
