TALES OF KALAHARI!

IN HONOR OF THE FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF

KING HASSAN IBN TRRROL AND QUEEN DARA KHSAN IBN TRRROL

TO BE CELEBRATED ON SATURDAY, 30 JUNE 2018, 12 Noon SLT

In the course of their first year of wedded bliss, Queen Dara has grown even more intelligent, beautiful, elegant, sophisticated and compassionate, though with a strong will.

King Hassan has errr grown a year older.

Together, they rule over the most prosperous and peaceful Kingdom in this part of the world. Over the next two weeks, the Chronicles will examine the Kingdom these enlightened monarchs guide, and the people who make up this marvelous land.

THE WIDE WORLD OF KALAHARI EVENTS

Part of the excitement in Kalahari, that surges through the Kingdom faster than the King can pursue an attractive woman, is the variety of events that citizens can participate in, contribute to, profit from, or enjoy. Here is a brief sampling of some of the vast variety from the cornucopia of Kalahari delights.

COMBAT

As a corollary of the military preparedness in Kalahari, some contests of skill and strength have occurred at different times in the Kingdom. One contest in particular stands out, as it was won by the indomitable Lion of the Desert, Hassan ibn Trrrol!

Field of Warriors

Though the gathering of warriors was intimidating, the brave King triumphed, and was able to give his inimitable roar :"THE LION OF THE DESERT!"

DANCE AND MUSIC PERFORMANCES

Though we have highlighted some of the brilliant individual artists contributing to the arts in Kalahari, we also must give praise to the kaleidoscope of artistic endeavor here in the Kingdom:

Music, Dance, Royalty, all in the Dance Temple

Salute to Sayed Sanik'naan

EID AL FITR

Kalahari shows the proper respect for Muslim feasts, and has often celebrated the Eid al Fitr. After prayers

comes the breaking of the fast.

Mmmmmmmm!

KIDNAPS AND ABDUCTIONS

Pirates and other criminals are not in the business of passing up golden opportunities, and those evil criminals know that the most beautiful women in the known world reside in Kalahari. Their aim, then, all too frequently involves kidnaps and abductions, with the result that Kalahari has suffered more than its share of dramatic crimes, starting with the horrifying abduction of the beloved Queen Dara.

News of the Queen's Abduction shocks Kalahari

But the Queen is not the only member of the Kingdom to suffer the horrors of an abduction. Poor Lady Roxelana is now slave Roxe because of her abduction

Slave Dalia also was taken, but heroic work by Tina Wo succeeded in rescuing her, aided by Willow, Roxe, and Afraa.

OOC EVENTS

CHRISTMAS

Kalaharians are so talented they can time travel centuries into their future to celebrate holidays such as Christmas, where an elderly Sinterklaas ibn Trrrol bestows gifts,

or just joined together in the spirit of the season.

Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night!

VALENTINE'S DAY

Since the spirit of romance hovers over Kalahari all year long, it is not a surprise that Valentine's Day is a popular day:

Valentine lovelies maliaja, Stephanie Brown, Afraa, and Tina Wo

Perhaps the day which draws the most participation is Halloween, though it is unclear whether Kalaharians just enjoy dressing up in bizarre outfits, or whether there are many ghosts, ghouls, goblins, and witches among the population!

SLAVE AUCTIONS

Compared to slavery in many other lands, the practice of buying and selling human beings in Kalahari is relatively humane.

The King himself has been involved in the slave trade:

while even Goddesses have used the Kalahari block.

Males slaves like Marcus can be on offer:

Minister Afraa sold her slave Roxe simply to avoid listening to her complaining any longer:

And the auctions themselves are among the most popular attr
actions in Kalahari.

STORYTELLING

Storytelling is not just a popular attraction in Kalahari,

and at a Garden.

TRIALS

One of the most controversial institutions in Kalahari is the Justice system, due mostly to the rather unique way the King appoints judges, and the ensuing decisions they reach which range from the puzzling to the outrageous.

Attentive Audiences pay strict attention

as do the judges
