TALES OF KALAHARI!
IN HONOR OF THE FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF
KING HASSAN IBN TRRROL AND QUEEN DARA KHSAN IBN TRRROL
TO BE CELEBRATED ON SATURDAY, 30 JUNE 2018
In the course of their first year of wedded bliss, Queen Dara has grown even more intelligent, beautiful, elegant, sophisticated and compassionate, though with a strong will.
King Hassan has errr grown a year older.
Together, they rule over the most prosperous and peaceful Kingdom in this part of the world. Over the next two weeks, the Chronicles will examine the Kingdom these enlightened monarchs guide, and the people who make up this marvelous land.

Kalahari has more than its share of questionable characters: shady business people, criminal plotters, financial cheats, violent drunkards and
But a far greater number of Kalaharians are hard working citizens such as Farm Slaves, Garden Managers, Tavern Keepers, Kalahari Heralds, and so on. And these worthies add to the prestige and international stature of Kalahari, far outweighing the impact of the criminal element.
Here are just some of the examples of quality people who have given Kalahari the reputation it deserves.

One of the elite couples of Kalahari is the pairing of Commander Fariq James El Kalaharian and the radiant Samaira Valentina.

Though she is still on her long sea voyage, the multi-talented Lady Malika is deeply missed by Kalahari society, and many prayers are offered for her safe return.

Sir Peace Furst is a prominent member of Kalahari, and his union with Willow is one of the most "adventurous" in the Kingdom.

One of the quietest members of the Kingdom, but one who makes enormous contributions to the land is Solondra, the Tavern Manager. Though her voice is rarely heard, (except when she crows about her guilty victories in Parcheesi,) her service of food and drink and hospitality is a special quality in Kalahari.

Though polite society does not often mention topics like beatings, torture, and total control, the Mistress of Pain, Tina Wo, is one of the leading figures in Kalahari society.

Piety is not a concept that many link with the Kingdom, but at least one citizen represents the best in Muslim piety: Sayed Sanik'naan.

The busiest social center in Kalahari,

And there is little doubt that the art of the dance is the King's favorite. In fact, he demands that all women in Kalahari, slave and free, be proficient at this ancient discipline.
DANCE
Dance in Kalahari takes place in many venues, performed in many styles, and even involving contests of artistry and skill.
VENUES
THE DANCE TEMPLE
The Dance Temple is the classically beautiful venue for Kalaharians, and it is especially favored when the Royal Family dances there.

THE TAVERN
The Tavern is more of an area where dance spontaneously occurs, and even the criminal element has been known to participate.

THE GARDEN
As the social heart of Kalahari, the Garden of 1001 Pleasures is the center of countless activities, many of them legal. One of the cheeriest includes the dancing which permeates life in Kalahari. The radiant Sonia Tairov is just one example, along with Nilasso and Tina Wo, of the talent on display.

PRIVATE HOMES
The dance in Kalahari is not just at the large level of huge public displays, but is also evident in the private homes of Kalahari residents. King Hassan visited the home of the noted musician, dancer, entertainer BUBBLES and enjoyed watching Tasha Weston, Willow, BUBBLES, and Afraa entertain him with some sinuous dance moves.

WEDDINGS
Perhaps the most dramatic examples of the dance in Kalahari occur at weddings. These happy occasions not only allow the dancers to let loose with their passions, but also enables the dancers to prepare dance styles not often seen on a daily basis. like the fabled and dangerous dances only the women of Kalahari can manage: the Sword Dance

MUSIC
Dance is not the only form of artistic expression highlighted in Kalahari: music is one of the most important contributions to the high quality of life available to all Kalahari citizens.
Some of the most talented musicians in the known world have practiced their skills in Kalahari. Older citizens might remember Jo the Talented:

But many consider the present time as the Golden Age of Kalahari Music. These talented performers are not only skilled at their art, they are attractive and vibrant personalities (and sometimes naked, right BUBBLES? ahahahaha)

Special mention must be made of the multi-skilled Garden Manager Nilasso, whose troubadour skills, sung in a pretty but incomprehensible tongue, have charmed Kalaharians since she first sang a word.

Her ability to attract storytellers who described the whole of human experience - the sad and the happy, the tragic and the comic, the mysterious and the simply wonderful--thrilled and informed numerous Kalahari audiences.
