Mild enthusiasm gripped a gathering of Kalahari citizens and slaves, with some important visitors such as Ambassador Sabina of Topkapi,
and the beautiful Goddess of Valnor, Phaedra Sautereau,
who came together for the Kalahari Auction to bid on the offering of slaves.
Of course the Royal Couple, King Hassan and Queen Vi, along with Palace Slave dara were on hand to see the lovely and talented Nada be sold.
Presumably, the slaves were not as enthusiastic to be "on the block," but, they are slaves, so who cares? Thus, Gwen and Roxe and Nada and Marcus waited docilely as they sweated out their fate.
Sayed MaD and Captain Jack Docherty feigned disinterest before the event, for two different reasons: Sayed MaD had no money, and Captain Jack had chests of gold bars to bid on one special slave.
In sharp contrast, the crafty Elyssa Kalaratri, here seen with the Producers of the Kalahari Arts Festival, Josie and Aisha North, cleverly but quietly assessed the property on offer, and wound up buying half of the slaves! (For the males, who do not understand, that means 2 of the 4 slaves for sale, not one half of the body of each of the 4 slaves ahahaha.)
The high point of the auction was the flow of clever comments from the assembled bidders, and none was more clever and witty than those of Mine Slave Stephanie Brown, who actually tried to bid on some of the slaves herself! One wishes she could have bought slave Marcus, and after beating him severely, put him to work in the Mine!
First on the block was Terri Deluca, offered by Goddess Allegra, and after some wisecracking (from Owner as well as audience members,) the clever purchaser Elyssa acquired Terri.
The next slave came with an interesting story. One day, Palace Slave dara was walking along the seashore collecting oysters for the King's morning pick-me-up, when she noticed a wretched creature lying helpless on the beach! It turned out that was slave Gwen, washed ashore with a bunch of doubloons that dara gathered and added to the treasury in the King's bedroom located (censored.) Sayed MaD, entranced by her doubloons, carried off Gwen as his auction prize.
Next product came from Minister Afraa, who offered the suspected, but never convicted. murderer and jewel thief, the almost innocent yet sexually inviting, Roxe for the delight of the audience. Once again, the bargain hunter Elyssa walked off with this inviting maid.
The most spirited bidding of the day came when the beautiful and wildly talented Palace Slave Nada approached with halting step and pale visage. Though she failed the King's Kama Sutra test, that didn't stop Minister Afraa and Captain Jack from bidding with no concern for their personal wealth. Captain Jack finally won the precious Nada, and with an audacious bid, added a fourth day to his 3 days of possession. The price, which the King stated "means nothing" was 11,000 coins!
As the day ended, the King then generously tipped Auction Organizer Afraa al Abid 5 coins for her efforts.
