Minister Afraa al Abid journeyed to the Lost Jungle of the Maya to track down rumors that Lady Roxelana Chronander was being held in that jungle paradise.
Her long friendship with Sir Bill LeBrave allowed her to enter the deepest part of the steaming land, and when she finally met Bill, the rumors were proved true. Bill was holding the former Lady Roxelana, and her training was well advanced.
Afraa attempted to negotiate with Sir Bill, and brought with her all the money Lady Malika had been able to raise by selling her home in Alexandria, as well as all her jewelry, but Bill was unmoved. It became clear that the difficult and time-consuming training of his new slave had developed a certain attraction for the slave in the slaver.
Afraa, therefore, said her goodbyes to Bill, while counseling the weeping slave that obedience and submission would bring her peace,
and sailed back to Kalahari with two strong impressions. First, that slave Roxe had found her destiny with Sir Bill, and second, that Lady Malika had been a victim of a dark and mysterious conspiracy, while attempting with all her power to free her friend.
Upon returning to Kalahari, Afraa brought the good news to Lady Malika that she would be set free from her house arrest at Elyssa Kalaratri's home.
The gracious Elyssa, who had grown close to Malika during her captivity, prepared a couple of treats, which Afraa happily shared ahahaha.
But questions still remain in this mysterious affair. What happened to the jewels that Lady Roxelana took to Egypt? What role did the shadowy Captain Minghus play? At one time, he seemed to be behind the kidnap,
at another point, he helped Captain Jack Docherty in the search for Roxe.
But it is the devious figure of Sailmaster Thorgrim that hovers darkly over this complicated story. Though he sometimes seems the civilized man of the world
other evidence suggests that he may have been the mastermind of a vicious betrayal, that he may have the jewels in some secret location, and that he may be laying the groundwork for some political maneuvers in Kalahari, or Maya Land, or elsewhere that could be considered treasonous.
At the end of the day, Afraa visited the Garden of 1001 Pleasures, where the gracious Lady Josie North, and her beautiful dancers Aisha and Nilasso were entertaining Captain Jack Docherty and General Hannibal Overland. The day ended with much speculation and few facts, such that an urgent investigation should be undertaken for the security of Kalahari, and the safety of its residents.
