Witness Statement of Renee
Queen Dara Kidnapped by Captain Minghus
"I came to the port because I saw Minghus was there. I wished to see
if he actually worked. As I got within
view, I saw Motiaa with a bag over her head and what I believe was a chain attached
to her right ankle. The Queen was standing there also as I tried to communicate
with Motiaa to see if everything was ok. At this point I sent a message to Lady
Nilasso that she should get here as her private slave seemed to be in peril and
might need her. Before I could get an answer, Minghus picked up the Queen under
his arm and ran to his ship with Motiaa pulled along."
"I managed to sneak aboard his ship and I saw through a small window
that he had Motiaa in a cage and the bag was now over the Queens head. Then I saw Lady Nilasso board the ship in
search of Motiaa and I slipped back onto the pier. Fortunately for me, the ship
soon disappeared and I watched Nilasso and Motiaa fall into the water. Soon after, Motiaa again disappeared and
Minister Afraa had appeared to discover what was happening."
Bad news travels quickly, and a stunned crowd, including the King, gathered at the Tavern and the Old Landing to hear the news and try to see what they could possibly do to rescue the beloved Queen.

Suspicion should be raised by the behavior of Thorgrim, who asked Minister Afraa to review papers for his ship, and Lady Nilasso to write the papers out as the Sailmaster claims he can not write!

The crime itself occurred during this session, so that when Thorgrim, Nilasso and Afraa returned to the Landing to inspect Thorgrim's vessel, it was gone, and all that was left was the courageous Renee, who witnessed the kidnapping and the brave Motiaa and Nilasso, who were thrown into the water when Minghus "stole" (or took. with the greedy Thorgrim's permission and assistance???) Thorgrim's ship.
The recently freed prisoner Thorgrim has been rumored to be in high level talks with some foreign powers and now there is growing belief that he was involved with the vicious Minghus in high level diplomatic and financial crimes in the kidnapping of good Queen Dara.

The evil Thorgrim
Fortunately, the brave Renee and Motiaa were able to delay the abduction itself long enough to describe the Queen's condition to the Chronicles staff artist, Michelangelo al Kebab, who produced this portrait of the Queen as she was kidnapped.

Queen Dara "bagged" by the evil Minghus
The King shook off the grief of losing his Queen and sprang into action. He ordered the arrest of the new slaves of Minghus, Tina Wo and gretasla, to hold them hostage to insure the Queen's safety. They were both taken to the new Palace dungeon, ironically just constructed by Queen Dara herself,

The King supervises the caging of Tina Wo and gretasla
The King ordered Motiaa and Renee taken to secret and secure locations to protect them, as well as ordering all of Kalahari's forces to search for the Queen.
If the King had stopped there, all would have applauded his actions. but he made a decision seen to be as foolish as his appointment of Minghus to be Judge at the trial of Thorgrim! He ordered Thorgrim to search for the Judge who freed him, his business partner Minghus, who has abducted the Queen!
We can only hope that the King has some long-term strategy in using Thorgrim, and that the Queen will soon return safely to the people of Kalahari who love her.
All glory to Kalahari!
