BEAUTY

Queen Dara Khsan ibn Trrrol
Beauty is a sign that Allah loves us, and wants us to be happy. In Kalahari, beauty abounds, whether it is the face of the Queen, the glory of the City of Kalahari,

Kalahari
the dancers of the Garden of 1001 Pleasures, with special guest dancer,

The King? Seriously?
and recently, in Kalahari, beauty again arrived in the form of the wedding of Franco Carfield, and his beautiful bride Malika.

Heaven's View
As a love story always does, the wedding inspired the best of Kalahari, as their friends, and notable guests of the beloved couple, gathered to celebrate in word, song, dance, and festive fun the union of two wonderful beings.

THE PREPARATION OF THE BRIDE

As is fitting in a traditional wedding, her friends took the lovely Malika to the New Bath House, to bathe her, anoint her, and ready her for her husband.

WEDDING INTRODUCTION

Minister Afraa: “My dear fellow Kalaharians and honored guests, it is so good to see you all be a part of the wonderful event we celebrate today. In the dangerous world we live in, during these perilous times, we look for signs of rebirth, for a springtime that will allow all people to welcome and support each other, to accept and care for each other, to love each other.”

CEREMONY

King: "Thank you, Afraa, for your introduction. It is a wonderful thing to connect the strength and courage of Sir Franco Carfield with the beauty and sensitivity of the lovely Lady Malika. I am sure they will be a perfect couple and will offer so much joy to our little Kingdom. And I must admit, that I deeply admire Franco Carfield for his skill in selecting the most beautiful woman (apart for my Queen) in our lands. To show my appreciation, I will allow Sir Franco to bear the title "Sheik" as a token of his good taste and his persistence. From now on he will be Sheik Franco Carfield.

Now let’s come to the point. My dear Malika, may I ask you to do your vows?"

VOWS

Malika: "I vow to love and honor you in good times and bad. I give you my heart to protect from hurt, my body to care for you, my soul to watch over us, and my love forever. I pledge myself to you as your loyal and loving wife."

Smiles as she dabs a tear from her eye.

Franco: "My vow to you is to be your husband, your lover and your best friend.  I have always said that I am the luckiest man here and I truly believe that, because I get to marry my best friend who is always surprising and challenging me.  I promise always to be there with you, through good and bad, through the fun and all the shopping.  I love you my beautiful caring wife."

The King pronounced them husband and wife.

Married!

Wild Applause.

The Kalahari Royal Dancers then performed in their usual splendid fashion,

The Beauties of the Dance
the artistry continued with the haunting music of Jemima Larkspur.

Jemima Larkspur

under the watchful eyes of distinguished guests like Sultan Suleyman of Topkapi,

Sultan Suleyman of Topkapi

and the assembled guests, with their eyes, ears, and hearts nourished soon rushed to the beautiful buffet of food to nourish their bellies!

Mmmmmmm!
All is now quiet: the tent has been folded, the food distributed, the musicians have packed up their instruments, the dancers changed from their silks, the guests have found their way home.

But something lingers, a touch of beauty fills the air, the warm memories of two people whose love brought them together reminds us all that peace and beauty are our destiny, if only we have the courage to choose them.

Alleluia!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All glory to Kalahari
and peace and beauty as well!
