CEREMONY

As a love story always does, the wedding inspired the best of Kalahari, as their friends, and notable guests of the beloved couple, gathered to celebrate in word, song, dance, and festive fun the union of two wonderful beings.

WEDDING INTRODUCTION

King Hassan ibn Trrrol: "Kalaharians and other friends – I welcome you on this joyous day to bind together Sheikh Franco Carfield and Glen Locke in matrimony.  The Sheikh has been a much valued part of our community for a long time and we are pleased to welcome Glen back to our land
after a period of absence."

VOWS

Sheikh Franco Carfield: "I knew from the moment she entered my vision that this lady was to be my true love – and now after several months, she has accepted my proposal and agreed to be my wife.  She enters my family and will play a major part in my life from here on.  Glen, I ask you again in front of the good people of our fine Kingdom, will you become my wife?"

Glen Locke: "Your Majesty, people of the Kalahari – it is with much joy I have returned to this land – and into the house of the Sheikh.  (turns to the Sheikh) It is with great love and pleasure that I accept your proposal and wish to become your wife."

Sheikh Franco Carfield: "It gives me great pleasure to pass you this ring to show that we are wed – as one couple from here forward."

Glen Locke: "I accept your ring and pass to you one for your finger also – although the larger ring – around my neck remains in place – I am your wife and your slave – you are my love, my husband and my Master."

King Hassan ibn Trrrol: "My subjects of the Kalahari, it gives me pleasure to present to you Sheikh Franco Carfield and his wife Glen."

(Sheikh Franco Carfield kisses Glen Locke)

Wild Applause.

At this point, Xade Jurado presented a beautiful loving cup as her wedding gift to the loving couple.

and as the evening came, the lanterns provided by Xade cast a warm glow over the assembled guests.

Glen Locke: "My husband and I would like to thank The King, all the peoples of the Kalahari and in particular Tina and my old friend Afraa for their help in the preparations. Please accept a glass of champagne from Rose."

Afraa al Abid: "I propose a toast of health, happiness and long life not to mention that their union may be blessed with offspring
to continue the House of Carfield."

Afraa al Abid: "There is food and plenty of drink – please enjoy yourselves, and feel free to join the dancing, and celebrate with the happy couple."

THE PARTY

The assembled guests, with their eyes, ears, and hearts nourished, soon rushed to the beautiful buffet of food, prepared by Princess Nathalie,
to fill their bellies!

After the food and drink sated one of the desires cherished by Kalaharians, it was time for two other desires:

dancing:

and, well, you know:

FIREWORKS

The evening ended with a stunning light show and fireworks display
arranged by Xade.

All is now quiet: the tent has been folded, the food distributed, the musicians have packed up their instruments, the guests have found their way home.

But something lingers, a touch of beauty fills the air, the warm memories of two people whose love brought them together reminds us all that peace and beauty are our destiny, if only we have the courage to choose them.

EPIC DUEL IN KALAHARI!

KING HASSAN DEFEATS BIGBILL 2 - 1!!

BIGBILL PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANT!

KALAHARI MILITARY DAY!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Military ceremonies combine discipline and display. Military duels include that, but also something far deeper, and more savage. The sight of men with deadly weapons competing with each other, swinging these weapons with evil intent, causes the blood of spectators to heat up, answering some of the most profound and primitive motivations human beings can have.

People will come from near and far to view such a spectacle, and Kalaharians are no exception.

And when the duel is between two noted warriors like the young buck Sir BigBill Huckleberry, and the ancient (and sometimes creaking) Lion of the Desert King Hassan ibn Trrrol, the bloodlust of the crowd will know no bounds.

Various formalities took place before the match, and then the fury of the match was unleashed. So many spectators were shocked at the speed and ferocity with which these two warriors engaged. Two very interested spectators who looked on with a mixture of fear and pride were
Queen Dara Khsan ibn Trrrol and Kahya Tara Applemoor.

They were joined by a large crowd of the Kalahari glitterati and common people.

But then the duel began. with the flashing blades barely visible to the crowd of onlookers, and the dust raised from the quick movements of the battlers, mixed in with the grunts and groans of sword play, thrusts and blocks, creating an amazing spectacle.

The King won the first round, BigBill the second. But the deciding round was won by the King, using the ancient Trrrol Dance Lunge. When Bill saw the King staggering like a drunken soldier, he hesitated for a moment, and that was all it took for the King to land the winning blow with his last blundering lurch.

The valiant warriors showed their respect and affection for each other after the contest, and the King immediately promoted BigBill to the rank of Lieutenant.

And of course, in Kalahari, when the victorious King volunteers to pay for the first round, the citizens of Kalahari duel to see who will be first to drink, to dance, to (ok never mind you know what comes next, right Tina? ahahha) Th party then moved to the Tavern of Trinity where every sort of entertainment was available.

And so it goes in Kalahari--bloodlust mixes with lust. competition and creativity merge, there is triumph and defeat, but a party at the end, always a party.

KALAHARI LEADS THE WORLD IN CULTURE!

BRILLIANT DISPLAY ORGANIZED BY SIR EGO!

KALAHARI HISTORY, CULTURE, AND ART!

KALAHARI FESTIVAL DAY!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sir Ego Manatiso  highlighted Kalahari's preeminence among the cultures of the known world when he mounted a spectacular exhibition on Kalahari Festival Day. The Festival settled into 3 main themes: History and the role of the Royal Family in the founding of Kalahari; the amazing new inventions that Sir Ego and others are developing; and, inevitably when Kalaharians are involved: partying, dancing, eating, and drinking.

The King spoke from the heart as he introduced Professor Ego:

Honourable friends, creme de la creme of Kalahari, also on behalf of my wife Queen Dara and the collected Ministers Afraa and Magdy, I want to thank you for attending this grand opening of the Trrrol Educational Centre.

This is a great day for the Kingdom.  Not long ago, a learned man immigrated to Kalahari.  He arrived on our shores and wanted to teach the citizens. He has worked tirelessly to develop classes for all of us.  He has impressed the king with his visionary approach to education. At my first encounter he impressed me by his wisdom and knowledge and I discussed with my wife the Queen Dara. We feel that education is a source for welfare in our country and we decided to use a part of the Ibn Trrrol treasures for a subsidy to Professor Ego Manatiso

You are invited to look at the result of this funding in the hands of the Professor. I am confident that we will all learn from his teachings. And for this occasion, I nominate him as Director of the Trrrol Educational Centre.

(Loud applause)

And Professor Ego modestly replied:

My King. Esteemed ladies and gentlemen. I am honoured to be addressing you all today  .. and don't worry, I shall not bore you with a long speech!!!

Before I begin however, I would like to say a very big thank you to Princess Nathalie and all the others who have contributed to the wonderful spread of food and drink!!!

I felt very privileged when the King asked me to create an Educational Centre in Kalahari as this was a very real opportunity for me to contribute to a community that I have adopted as my own and come to love over recent months. I'm sure you will agree, education in all its forms enriches society, fosters innovation and creativity, and allows communities to thrive and prosper.

Some of you will be aware there has been some debate around whether to create a school but questions were, rightly, raised over the value of such a venture and so the creation of an Education Centre fulfils both the needs to provide education and many other opportunities for the community to engage in sharing knowledge and expertise.

The Centre itself will offer numerous opportunities for everyone: it will continue as a public library for all to access books and scrolls and for group and individual classes to be held. I have been pleasantly surprised by how many people have come forward to offer suggestions for lessons and other learning opportunities with suggestions ranging from:

...an introduction to psychology
...maintaining a hareem
...specialist horticultural techniques
...basic skills for slaves
...and a full curriculum focused on human reproduction.

As you might have guessed, interest in the latter subject area has been quite high. The Centre will also act as a museum and an interactive exhibition space for numerous collections. As you will see, this facility is currently host to an exhibit on the history of Kalahari and the Royal Family. Many more collections are planned including one of the works and thoughts of one of the world's current intellectual leaders - Leonardo Da Vinci.

I must, at this point, give great thanks to Minister Afraa for her contributions of both knowledge and images for the current exhibition. Her Chronicles of Kalahari are a detailed and fascinating source of information on Kalahari and what you see in the exhibition is just a small amount of what can be found in the Minister's Chronicle. There is a magic link in the exhibition to her full Chronicles - I recommend everyone read them.

Finally, on the top floor you will find a working science laboratory able to conduct leading-edge research into many of the new areas of science such as plant and fish production and new magic energies. Indeed, so new is some of the science that I confess even I don't know what some of the machines do yet so, please, do not press any of the buttons or levers as I can't guarantee what will happen!!!!

I very much hope you will enjoy this new addition to our kingdom and please do keep giving me suggestions for lessons, exhibitions, or other developments that will best serve our community.

Thank you.

HISTORY AND THE ROYAL FAMILY

Kalaharians are familiar with the story of King Hassan ibn Trrrol's ancestor, Hamdoelilah ibn Trrrol, who led his people on "The Great March," which ended in the fruitful land we now call Kalahari.

The exhibit paid special attention o the role King Hassan ibn Trrrol, and his predecessors have played in creating the cultural centre of the known world. Particular attention was paid to the lovely Queen Dara, as well as Princess Nathalie, the Royal Caterer.

The elderly King also received his due:

though many of the weapons he brought into battle
seemed surprisingly unused:

ADVANCES IN SCIENCE

Kalaharians were attracted to the top floor of the exhibit to see some of the scientific marvels that Kalahari's researchers and wizards are pursuing and developing.

CELEBRATION

And Kalaharians did what they do best: PARTY!

BREAKING NEWS!

KING HASSAN IBN TRRROL TO MAKE THE HAJJ TO MECCA!

LEAVE TAKING CELEBRATION SET FOR 29 MAY 2020

THE PERILOUS JOURNEY WILL TAKE 4 TO 6 WEEKS!

Greetings my beloved people!

For some time now, the burden of Kingship has weighed heavily on my shoulders. In my desire to better the lives of all my subjects, I have been involved in so many stressful situations that have taken their toll on Trrrol.

My love for Kalahari burns as brightly as ever, but I believe it may be time for me to take the Hajj to Mecca, and to use this 4 to 6 week period to refresh myself, in order to carry on the labors of Kingship.

In my place, I am appointing as Grand Vizier of Kalahari my trusted friend and ally Sir Ego Manatiso. He will have full authority in all matters Kalahari. In addition, my beautiful (and much more intelligent than I) Queen Dara will remain in the Palace and hold moral authority over the Kingdom. I am sure all in Kalahari-my Ministers and residents-will support them, as they have always supported me.

On 29 May, I will leave Kalahari on the Hajj, and there will be some ceremony before I leave on my journey.

Be assured that you all will remain in my heart and mind as I make this dangerous journey to Mecca.

Your grateful King.
Hassan ibn Trrrol

Lion of the Desert

All Kalaharians wish the King good health,
and a very celibate pilgrimage to Mecca!
