BASIC TRAINING HAS BEGUN FOR SIR KAL GARNET

Under the sponsorship of His Royal Highness, King Hassan Ibn Trrrol, Princess Livia Ashi has issued a call for all the mighty warriors of the Kingdom, male and female, to join the Royal Guard under her leadership.

Sir Kal Garnet has already begun the demanding regimen required of all who join the Guard, and Sir Samtalpur has expressed interest as well. Princess Livia will closely supervise all aspects of the training.

The exercises are grueling and repetitive, but the Princess knows all great warriors possess patience, and the attention to detail that can separate life and death in an instant.

At times, the Princess herself comes down into the Arena to correct a position, or display a move for the trainee. While no one expects initiates to match her speed and power, it does serve to set high standards for those who will form the Royal Guard.

And speaking of Sonia, the King gave Minister Afraa special instructions to convey to Sonia as she begins her top secret mission, that includes a long and perilous journey. The Minister was clearly not pleased to see our photographer at the farewell, and refused further comment as Sonia departed.

Slaves rino and Druslan began their service to the Kingdom, and Druslan had the added pleasure of seeing the military training administered by Princess Livia.

Congratulations to the lovely slave dara who has passed all the qualifying tests, and has been named a Palace Slave by the King himself. She begins her service immediately.

The King graciously granted to Tavern Manager Cindy a lovely house where she and Sir Kal Garnet will live as a couple. They have moved in, furnished the house, and seem to have gotten comfortable with the furniture. ahahaha!

FOREIGN RELATIONS OF MAMLAKAT KALAHARI

Disturbing news of two foreign leaders fighting with each other at a marriage feast to the delight of the powerful ruler whose wedding they attended have reached our shores. Our best wishes go out to the embarrassed nations and their inhabitants, who shall remain nameless.

But let us move to a more pleasant topic. You can see in the following photograph Minister for External Relations Afraa al Abid dancing with the infamous Meyonian Ambassador Randy Quander, a close personal friend of Kadin Daria al Rachid of Kuwar  Minister Afraa was teaching the lead-footed Ambassador a basic dance step.

Princess Livia has begun to train Sir Kal Garnet in combat, in preparation for the formation of the Royal Guards.

The King acquired slave rino, a young slave who shows some promise in obedience and productivity. We will see if he can meet the high standards for slaves set by such outstanding examples as Abu and Gabi.

And finally, Goddess Franchesa Deluca came by to inform us of one of her new ventures, the Aurora Academy. The Goddess seemed enthused with her project, and has enlisted some members of Kalahari Kingdom as Adjunct Instructors at the Academy. We wish the Goddess well, but know anything she begins is a great success.

FOREIGN RELATIONS OF MAMLAKAT KALAHARI

Unlike many nations, who follow foreign policies best described as selfish, Kalahari pursues its relations with foreign nations in accord with the same values it upholds domestically. Integrity, initiative, creativity rule the day as far as King Hassan Ibn Trrrol is concerned.

A case in point is the upcoming State visit that the King will be making to Valnor. At first glance, the Kingdom has little in common with a "Gor-evolved" sim, especially one ruled, unusually, by women not men.

Yet the King understands that Kalahari has the obligation to spread its values of understanding, cooperation, and support in a world that is increasingly run by power-hungry leaders who are only interested in making war with other countries, or even, executing their own citizens!

As a perfect representation of the rich medieval quilt that is the Kalahari society. the delegation that the King will be leading includes royalty, ministers, citizens, and slaves. The Chronicles will keep all its readers up-to-date on all the events associated with the visit.

PRINCESS LIVIA'S ILLNESS REVEALED
HEROICALLY KEPT AILMENT A SECRET UNTIL HER RETURN TO THE KINGDOM
FIRST PERSON NARRATIVE FROM THE PRINCESS

For security reasons, the Palace requested that the Chronicles keep silent about Princess Livia's illness until her safe return. It is a well-known fact that the Kalahari Herald, Afraa al Abid, always obeys the King without a murmur of protest. So it is only now that we can share the Princess' exciting narrative.

"One morning I awoke to sharp pains in my stomach. I had no idea what the reason was and knew that I had to seek out help. I sent a Raven to the Palace to inform my brother (King Hassan) that I was leaving for Rome to seek out our healer. I asked him to keep my illness a secret.

I traveled to Rome during the night--having spoken with Magdy who was busy at the farm. Once in Rome, my mother found me at the docks--in pain and doubled over with tears streaming down my face. My mother immediately ordered her guards to take me to her villa where I was treated by the family's healer. I was given pain tonic and ordered to rest.

The cause of the pain will remain to my knowledge and that of my family. I sent a Raven to Magdy in order to let him know what was happening and begged once more for secrecy. The Kingdom shouldn't know of the Princess' weakness. After the pain reduced, and feeling the longing to be back with my husband, I took a ship back to Kalahari. The healer made me travel with the pain tonic.

Once arrived, I have kept my illness a secret but now that I am better and with only slight pain---I am allowing the Herald to publish the news of my return and the reason for my absence."

The Chronicles staff, along with all Kalahari, rejoice in the Princess' return. Her family is such an important part of the fabric of the Kingdom,

KALAHARI HOSPITALITY

As the "Welcoming Kingdom," Kalahari has a well-deserved reputation as the Hospitality Capital of the Micronations. A case in point is the generosity of Tavern Manager Cindy, who has fed numerous visitors from the agricultural produce of the Kingdom. Today, she fed the poor orphan Jamaal, who has no resources, but is adopted by the Kingdom, as are all refugees.

The Kingdom welcomes Alexx Demonia, the personal slave of Dr. Adeel C. Eagor, the hero of the recent plague epidemic. Slave Alexx may also assist the Doctor in the Medical Centre.

King Hassan took slave dara on an exploratory mission, having heard that there were some refugees that were not cared for in surrounding areas. We hope to hear more about their journey in future editions of the Chronicles.

SLAVE SACK INTENSIVELY EXAMINED
NEGOTIATIONS CONCLUDED

Kalahari Kingdom is home to many talented citizens, whose abilities are turned toward the welfare of the Kingdom by a dedicated monarch, who understands his people's abilities..

Today, another example of that dedication surfaced, when the King delegated the business of interrogation of slave sack to Tavern Manager Cindy and Sir Kal Garnet. As expected, they did a marvelous job.

As a result of their incisive questioning, the pair determined that an exchange would be possible, and the beaten and worn down slave sack might profitably be traded for a younger, stronger version of a work slave, who could be used in the Mine or elsewhere. So that is what they recommended to the King, and what Cindy is shown advising him.

As a monarch who is interested in clarity and fairness, the King made sure that all details of the plan were understood, and then confirmed it.

One of the King's pet projects has been the Bath House, and, in another example of his ability to delegate to talented subordinates, he has appointed Sir Rambo and Diana Geesink as the agents who will furnish the facility. PLAGUE CURED!

The Doctor came through! Working feverishly, Adeel C. Eagor discovered a miraculous cure for the plague. The stunning moment came when his potions were administered to slave dara, the carrier. Withing hours, the incipient blood flow from her eyes ceased, the irritation vanished, and she was cured! Working quickly, the Doctor administered his saving potions to all who had come within 5 meters of the slave, and then pronounced the Kingdom free of the dreaded disease.

Queen Vi gratefully welcomed back her husband from his quarantine ordeal, and the King was grateful that the Queen's steady hand on the helm had steered the Kingdom through the storms of disease to the safe harbor of the cure.

The sea of Kalahari is well known for the sudden storms which sweep across from the Bight of Kuwar, and send enormous quantities of water and hot air to our coastline. So we are not unfamiliar with poor unfortunates washing up on our shores and receiving a warm welcome in the Kingdom.

Such was NOT the case today when a certain slave Sack washed up on our shores with an arrogant, if not threatening, attitude. Mumbling that he had fallen off the ship of his Mistress VivicaBloomfield, on her way back to the Slave Isles, he was easily subdued, at the King's direction, by Sir Kal Garnet. After the usual useless threats of the captive, he was caged, more for his own safety than anything else.

Soon after, rather surprisingly, a man named Angus MacGryver sailed into the Landing, and expressed an interest in purchasing the freedom of this caged slave. Clever questioning by Tavern Manager Cindy, and firm negotiations by Sir Kal, drew better and better offers. But the King wisely suspended negotiations until both of these surprise visitors could be investigated.

Friend of the Kingdom Trisia, rejoicing with all the rest of the civilized world in the plague cure, visited King Hassan and others who enjoyed a tasty refreshment at the Delicious Syrup Inn and Tavern.

KALAHARI KINGDOM THREATENED BY WIDESPREAD DESTRUCTION!

PLAGUE OUTBREAK CONTAINED!

FAST WORK BY MEDICAL STAFF AND DR. EAGOR PROTECTS THE KINGDOM!

KING HASSAN AMONG THOSE QUARANTINED!!!


It began with a commonplace transaction: the King purchased a slave Aura, to do cleaning work and other duties in the Palace. But it almost became a tragedy of catastrophic proportions.

It was carried by a frightened slave, who unknowingly carried the seeds of destruction in her body.

It was spotted by a clever physician, who asked the right questions, and saved the Kingdom from unspeakable tragedy.

It is the dreaded plague, that insidiously invaded Kalahari today!

We begin with the normal kindness and hospitality of the Kingdom. When the King first brought slave Aura to us, he noticed that she seemed undernourished, and in his concern for even the lowliest inhabitant, he made sure that the Delicious Syrup Manager Cindy served her some nourishing porridge until she had eaten her fill.

Though burdened with the concerns of his Office, and the upcoming meeting of his Court, the King left word that the Kingdom's Chief Physician, Dr. Adeel C. Eagor himself, examine this slave.

With his concern for the slave, the King most probably saved not only her life, but his own, also those of most, if not all, of the inhabitants of the Kingdom.

Dr. Eagor is a physician of superb training, and international experience, from bug-infested emirates to flu-ridden ocean-going vessels. And so it was that the best possible medical expert squatted in front of the tiny slave Aura at this critical time and peered into her eyes. And what he saw disturbed him. So he asked the critical question:

"On the island of Sambo, did anything occur pertaining to eye disease?" And slave Aura told him that hunters had been complaining of eye irritation, especially after they had raided the home area of another tribe. And then the bleeding began.....

Immediately, Dr Eagor brought all his impressive knowledge to bear on the problem, and instantly diagnosed "PLAGUE! GET BACK! ANYONE WHO WAS WITHIN 5 METERS OF THIS SLAVE, COME TO ME!" And thus, the life saving response of the Kalahari community swung into action.

Immediately, Queen Vi Vyper and Minister Afraa al Abid who had not come close to the unfortunate plague victim were rushed to safety by Kal Talbert.

But King Hassan, Inn/Tavern Manager Cindy, and slave Dara joined Dr Eagor and slave Aura in quarantine. The Pyramid was chosen as the safest place to maintain the Quarantine, both for medical reasons, and also in case of a "curse" placed by the injured native tribe in Sambo.

Queen Vi immediately brought to bear all the resources of the Kingdom to assist her beloved husband and all those in Quarantine. The Doctor had determined that this particular strain of the Plague was only spread by 5 meter contact with a carrier, so the Kingdom is safe except for the area inside the Pyramid. But Kal Talbert bravely risked that contact to bring food, water, and necessary medical supplies to the quarantine victims.

And of course, King Hassan stared death in the face without fear, and kept up the spirits of all in the quarantine by leading various singalongs and chants, and telling jokes about his royal decisions. As the King sang his lullabies, all began to fall asleep, and rested peacefully.

PatriciaMol, a self-proclaimed slaver from Kuwar came to the Kingdom looking to make a business contact with slave holders here. Further documentation will  be required from her before she is allowed to practice her trade in the Kingdom.
